IFA announces a strategic alliance with Guidant Financial
The IFA announced a strategic alliance with Guidant Financial, an industry leader in small business financing. With the issue of credit still a factor for job growth, Guidant and the IFA will jointly develop and conduct educational programs focused on credit access for franchise businesses.
“Access to capital is one of the foremost challenges facing franchise business owners in the current economic climate, and Guidant’s strategic alliance with the IFA will allow for the expansion of credit access resources to more franchise borrowers nationwide,” said David Nilssen, CEO & Co-Founder of Guidant.
The alliance will be an important step in the ongoing quest to make more credit available to both aspiring franchise owners and existing franchisees. “By working with financial service innovators like Guidant Financial, the International Franchise Association can better serve its growing membership of nearly 1,200 franchise systems, over 13,000 franchisees and more than 700 supplier partners that supply goods and services to the industry,” said Steve Caldeira, President and CEO of the IFA.
Guidant and the IFA first joined together with First Lady Michelle Obama as part of the 2011 Operation Enduring Opportunity campaign. Guidant Financial, a member of the IFA’s VetFran program, pledged to help fund 500 new veteran-owned businesses by 2014.
